Tailgate Door Stuck

I think the spring has finally gone, got a set of 5 springs from bay just need to get round to fitting them.

Can you remove the tailgate trim from inside with door closed or ??

On mine you can,but thats not saying much.You can also lever out the oval badge on the outside,there is a notch on the lower edge,and get access to the workings and maybe jiggle the catch.With luck.

There are 2 springs on the rear door lock, the broken one is between 2 plates
