Sorry guys, I'm sure this has been hammered but I have finaly re-installed the roof lining in the Disco (only took about 18months!) following a whole variety of leeks. Anyway the last step to ensure a good finish was to replace the glass-case seal on the sunroofs (they havn't leeked since being closed hard with a spanner with the handles off while the lining was out but I suspect this wont be the case as I begin using them again in the summer).
I bought 2x STC773 "sunroof seals" a few months back when ordering other bits from one of the online parts suppliers (LRSeries.com I think) and was told that they were the glass to case not case to bidy seal (and this matches what most people say on here) however they do not fit and are nothing like. They are in original LR packaging but are a different lenth (shorter) and much fatter (probably 2-3 times) with an entirely different profile.
Am I just being daft or is there another seal option on the latter Disco 1 (Mine is an R reg Disco 1 with manual sunroofs)?
PS - I have a RAVE CD for the Disco but is there any publicly accessable parts list (inc. codes) available with proper date periods / VIN numbers etc as many of the online suppliers have descriptions that read (for example) "nut" or "seal" or even "seal - special"???
