Sun roof rattles

My sunroofs on my 300 Tdi have both rattled like mad when either tilted or fully open since I have owned it.

Today I finally got a set of steps and i climbed up above the roof and I looked from the outside while my mate looked from the inside, we found both had loose screws holding the glass in place.

It was a bugger to get a torx bit in a 8mm rachet spanner into place but with a bit of fiddling I got them all tightened.

What joy it was driving home with the roofs open and no horrible rattle driving me mad, so if your sunroofs rattle it could simply be a few loose screws.

My front one rattles like fook-going to have look-thanks for posting

That reminds me must open my sun roofs for their annual checkup/clean

Bit like my windows they stay shut now that car parks are pay and display so I never have to open them, although I drop them them to whipe the edges when giving them a clean

Unfortunately my torx screws are tight-it is the frame that moves up n down,not the glass-doesn't rattle on a smooth piece of road-if you can find some

Aaah,theres me thinking "its british made,its going to rattle!".....thought it was normal ! I will have a look at it now....one more on the long list.Thanks for posting it mate
