Steering box 98 disco 1

I need a steering box for my disco 1, has been leaking for a while and mot is due,

I hear them talk of 3 bolt and 4 bolt, what is the difference ?

the bolting refers to the number of bolts on the top of the unit, holding it together.
theres a place at mifrfield that recons them at reasonable prices and quick turnround, i'll dig the address out.

£125 plus vat for a td5 steering box.
told 300 should be cheaper.
also do quite a lot of other hydraulic pumps an bits.

reconned my old mans td5 box, dropped it off and a day an half later was ready to pick up. would have to discuss direct if you want a replacement exchange box.

Will be £109 for a recon box, when i send my old box back,

do you have a website for mm 4x4 as i need to recon mine on boxing day i had to silicone round my box base so i could attend a pay and play day rough i know

Good idea, that would of saved me 150 quid lol ! Just google mm 4x4, its about 150 with a drop arm aswel delivered,re con 12 months warrenty, order online its cheaper

My lower seal leaks, i was thinking of changing the seal but it looks like its been leaking for a while, also it wears a groove in the shaft and leaks past the new seal

ha well desperate times call for desperate measures and i siliconed it 27th of december and since then i have used the truck daily and ive only lost less than a quarter of the fluid from the reservoir but ultimately it needs replacing so ill give them a try cheers
