Hullo I fitted a new stereo (just) and it was a struggle to squeeze it in. In the next week or so (whenever it is delivered) I'll be plugging in a reversing camera.

I was wondering where I'd put the reverse camera wireless receiver thingy, should I be able to get from the back of the stereo space to the glove box area without taking off the whole dash?.

It's a 300tdi with airbags if that makes any difference, was hoping to get from the back of the dash down to the bit where all the ecu's etc are located in the footwell.

Not sure if the TD5 Glove box is same its a 2000 TD5
I could get my clenched hand up to near anough the secction holding the stereo and ran a USB lead down to a 40gig hard drive for the stereo in to the glove box. just go to fabricate a bracket to hold it in place now was just resting in there..

The stereo in mine is at the top of the consol above heater controls
I presume its same place in a 300

why not use your mirrors no worry about cabling up unneccecary gadjets and less to go wrong

Because I've already hit an invisible bollard, disco's aren't really famed for being able to see what's going on behind them.

Yep, x2, the high bodywork and spare wheel position make reversing up to bollards/other cars in car parks, a bit of a nightmare. The mirrors aren't much help in that situation either.

I took the glove box out and used a thin plastic thing to push through and used that to feed through my cables for the reversing camera and also auxiliary audio (phono to jack) may well have while I was in about it.
