Evening guys,

I'm going to go down the split charge route on my G reg disco but was looking for some wiring advice. I plan on leaving everything that is standard to come off the main starter battery except for the interior lights then putting these along with everything else off the leisure battery.

I'm going to locate the leisure battery in the tray on the near side and run the main power cable through the bulk head into the passenger compartment where i will locate a 16 way fuse box behind the kick panel. If there is room i will also locate a relay box here to for the 3 spot light relays.

My question is what size should the cable be to feed the fuse box from the batt and what size cable should i use to link each terminal of the fuse box to the main live? If that makes sense!

Im also unsure on cable sizing for my spot lights as they have 150w rally bulbs in? Any help would be much appreciated as i can do the work but am not sure on proper cable sizing!

How many currents..............um................:wtf:! I don't know!! I have 6 spots in all, 4 on the roof and 2 on the A bar. They are wired in 2's at the mo, with a seperate relay and fuse for each pair. Will it help if i tell you what I will run off the new fuse box?

I guess it all depends on what you are going to run off the lesuire battery through the fuse box,

150w x6, thats just lights, i used zero guage for a stereo set up years ago, running a 2000w max amp, zero guage from batt to a big inline fuse, that split down to 2 8 guage cables into amp, biggest that would fit in amp, the 8 guage did get warm !

I'm going to run the spots, interior lights + a strip light, 2 x 12v sockets which will hardly be used, alarm & central locking of the leisure batt. I will take it to an auto electrician if i must but find it frustrating paying someone to do it when i'm capable to do the work but just dont know what size cable to use.
