So I bought my disco 2 v8 a few months back and she recently started over heating, down to the local garage.. radiator... shaped like a rugby ball, so that was replaced...

but before we replaced that, we tried the Head gasket repair stuff, then finding it was the radiator, so after the radiator had been changed, she has been fillied with water ( just to make sure everything was ok, before i splashed out on the proper stuff) iv been driving her daily for 30 mile round trip and she has been fine:D but now water is starting to come out of the Overflow pipe! although there was no over heating!

Until i blasted on the Air con today and the temp shot up....

so i decided to have a fiddle and found the Throttle body cooling pipe to be clogged up with the HG repar sealent:mad: so after cleaning all that out, I took her for a spin, was fine but still pouring water everywhere.

Then tried her with the AC and temp shot up agian..

iv been weary about the overflowing, and I'm pretty sure its not me topping her up too much. iv left it to find its own level, which is right at the bottom of the expansion tank.

so opinons or ideas pretty pretty please

HGF?
Too much/too little coolant
the HG sealent clogging up somewhere

hope the picture uploads work too

cracked block behind liner, head gasket if your lucky, you cant over fill system it will just push out what it dosent need on good system and settle,

If its cracked behined the liner, it shouldnt be a big problem i though it was if the liner was cracked?

cheers for all your advice guys. gutted right now.

just been doing some reading, I think i undertand why the coolent is doing this, because the coolent runs so close behined the liner, where the alu is at its thinest?

its seems some people have used a top flange liner to solve the problem, what are your oppinions on that ?

is their any other way of being certain that this is the problem?

it seems to be good way of fixing fault, the only way to be sure is to block off water ways on top of each bank with plate and rubber gasket and the same with front water way behind timing cover drill hole in front one and fit tyre valve, fill bank at least half full with very hot water and pressureise with air line ,it will bubble up between the two if cracked

just been out, roughly a 7 mile trip some around town and on the duel, putting the revs upto 3500 rpm for a few miles and no problems what so ever, no water spill or overheating, although expansion tank was slightly bubbly when i got back.

Only thing i noticed was LPg took a bit longer to switch over.

I also don't have a loss of power or anything? any thoughts ?

7 miles perhaps not long enough journey but you may be lucky and just have had air lock ,which can give hgf symptoms too ,check all hoses are hot after trip it shoes coolant flowing ,thermostat opening etc
