Just had a insurance renewal quoat with my insurer, Swinton £260.00 a year more. Where the **** are they pulling these figures from I don't know. £977.00 fully comp a year 30 years old and never claimed once. Anybody got any ideas? Apart from taking my baby off road literally. I think I may write a letter to anne Robinson on points of view, surly something has got to be done about these insurers grabbing us by the balls and taking the ****. Pay the price we ask or **** off and drive with no insurance attitude, using the law against us. It ain't as if we got a choice.

Insurers are no angels, but I suspect it is more down to the growing number of people who are not insuring their vehicles and the abnormally high cost of repairing a 4x4. Most of my suppliers have put up their prices by 6 - 10 percent since Christmas, so things are not going to get cheaper this year.

May be worth a call to Adrian Flux or SureTerm Direct et al, just to see what they can do for you?

NFU,not quite the cheapest but often near, more flexible and humans you can face to face with when you have to claim.Failing that,a small local independent that has been in business for over 20 years and is not flashy. My experience.Dont get me started on the cost.....really,dont

You aint the only one. Ive just renewed at £850 with Adrian Flux. Best I could get after shopping around for days. Im 30, no speeding points, live in an area with a crime rate of "somebody has dropped some litter....." and have never had a claim in my life. Plus, thats 'second car' insurance, trying to get it a little cheaper.

Funny thing is, my missus, aged 30 (with an SP50 and a minor bump), gets a quote of £300 as long as Im not on the insurance! Bloody crazy.

just had a quote from AF & Lancaster - £860!!!! (mind you - both were with Equity Red star).

best I have found is the RAC @ £370.

Try Frank Pickles. Cheapest I could find. They don't hide behind call centres and are independant. The more mods the better. You don't accrue NCD's though and limited mileage. Depends what the Landy is used for. I got 1 main driver plus 2 named drivers for £145! Down from £620 with NFU...

you could get a traker this should drop you inserance by a lot or if that wont cut it petrol bom there offices and rebel look what is going on in Liber its sort of working for them and the whole world is backing the rebels

Huddersfield ? Low crime ? You cant shut a window round there without trappin some ****s fingers :D

PMSL! True.:D

Fortunately, I live away from town with the robbing scutters and pikeys and live in the sticks with all the inbred folks.

Honestly, the worst things on the monthly crime report I get , were "wing mirror smashed" and "litter left on road". Seriously. Oh, we did have a £60,000 heroin haul a few years ago, but they were 'outsiders' lol.

My mate moved out here recently and his car insurance went down by £50 a MONTH by moving from HD1 to HD8.

I was only pullin yer leg :D There is some lovely countryside round the outskirts and some really nice pads. Wish I could afford em.

Well Swindon can kiss my welsh hairy arse......thanks for all the replies on the insurance names to try out folks, I will give em a bell for a quoat & let you know how I get on.

Shop around online - you'll get a better quote from a different company, and you'll probably find your own insurer gives you a far better quote online than the renewal they asked for. If they do, go back to them and ask them to match the online quote. Company I used to be with would always drop the quote without even being asked if I rang up to query it. Last couple of years I've used Swiftcover who are pretty good but even they hjave put it up this year.
