Having installed a second battery a while ago, I have been slowly switching sockets etc over to this battery, and now my wiring is getting a bit messy to say the least, as I have kept running wires from the battery into the cabin and now its a complete mess.

So I am now looking at putting in something like a fuse distribution box so I only have one wire from the battery into the cabin, and then I can take feeds from the box.

Has anyone already done something like this, and what sort of fuse box did you use, as the only ones I can find are marine versions like this one:-

Blue Sea ST 5026 12 way fuse distribution block with neg bus bar [BlueSea 5026] - £41.92 : LED Lights, Marker Truck LED Vehicle Lighting Trailers Commercial Lightbars Warning Lights Land Rover

but wasn’t sure if there was something else under a different name etc that I ain’t come across.

Any idea’s appreciated before it all goes ‘bang’…..

Have found a cheaper version, that has more outputs :D

Perfect for what I need, as it will be a 'live' fuse box that I can place next to the standard fuse box to run off all my aux sockets etc...

here is the link of the one I have just bought after speaking with the Seller to make sure it will do what I want it to do in case anyone else is looking at doing the same thing

12way 12v Accessory/custom install Fuse Box new | eBay

Just need to find a long enough battery cable now to get from the 2nd Battery to the fuse box....

What thickness wire would people recommend for the wire from the battery to the fuse box? Is 25mm the thickness I should go for, or is this too thick?

I got a great fusebox out of a nissan micra for this same situation. Its got a whole load of egular size blade fuses, space for at least 4 maxi blades, regular relay bases and mini relay bases too, which is handy when you want a small coil current like using the alernator light to switch things. Handy live busbars and all in one compact box.You can use lucar spades to connect in or just chop the original wiring and use butt connectors.

The only thing I would replace on something like that is the battery live as they tend to be minimal on modern small cars.As said above, you need to calculate the diameter to match your load but you can always double the cable runs to get the total diameter up,or so I am told.
