I love cruise control and on my mega commute to head office in my company car it is a godsend. (average speed camera w**kers!)

When I found out you could fit it to your TD5 for very little money I wanted to have a go.

The parts were:
1x Master switch for the binnacle: Part# YUH100370 (£8.80 Land Rover)
1x Steering wheel switch (£15 ebay) (£30ish from LR)

I followed this method:
Discovery TD5 Cruise Control : Mud-Club Articles : Technical library for Land Rover, Pajero, Suzuki, Jeep, Toyota, Discovery, Range Rover, Freelander

The TD5 ecu is already programmed for cruise control and the wiring is all there, so it is simply a matter of fitting the switches!

I went to 'Carcraft' in an attempt to steal a binacle switch (out of principle, 'cos of their stinky sales attitude!), but either someone beat me to it or they are wise to it!!!

It really is simple to fit, took under an hour - the only scary and time consuming bit is cutting the hole in your steering wheel.

Cruise control for under £25 - bargain!
LR will charge about £400 to fit it...

Did the same myself, the cutting through the steering wheel bit is scary. Must admit, I chain drilled then used a stanley knife....and slipped cutting a bit I didnt want to. The wonders of "plastic paddings chemical metal" and a bit of black touch up paint and you'd never know I was a spanner that slipped with a stanley knife.
Cheap as chips and dead simple. Now my TD5 Es is "fully loaded" although I havent had a chance to really test it out yet.
