There's always more to it than what you can see.
Chop all the crap out and see what your left with and make a decision from there. Chances are it'll be a whole new section.
Or, alternatively, I think there's someone on here flogging a disco galvanised chassis for not an awful lot of beer tokens?

thats what i thought just cut it all out and see whats left to be honest it looks worse than it is its the crossmember thats bothering me ,mainley because its where the seat belts bolt to:jaw:

Its all doable, but thats a hell of a lot of work. If your welding is OK now, you'll be an artisan by the time you've finished :D

Really admire you if you do continue, to be honest I'd consider breaking it and getting another with less rot. I'm assuming the mechanicals are all A1? If you have work to do there as well, then its a no brainer to me - walk away - it'll cost a packet to do and take years.

yes mechanicals are really good its done 112 thousand but had a goldseal engine replacement at 50 thousand gear box t box and axles a fine apart from tired uj s

as i said cut out what was rotten just got the parts on the chassis rails to do next ,i covered everything in phosphoric acid to kill the rust and im thinking of blowin some it to the chassis but i think i will do that off the patio if not i may die :rolleyes::rolleyes::emps1: swmbo rules yey yey yey:eek:

sorry i hadnt forgot about this thread ,its on hold due to return vist with my mondeo arm ,:(
