I'd be interested as well. New parts are about £200 each, so I'm looking at removal and repaint later this year. They are actually quite easy to remove.
Only think I'm not sure of is the colour. I'm thinking of a matt black but I'm not sure if that's the original LR colour.

Mine are the same...had a look at Haynes but nothing in there on removing them, anyone got any pointers or a how -to?

I took off one of the rear frames to repair a faulty lock, and they're really quite easy to remove. The main thing you need is good Torx drivers/sockets. There are 3 or 4 large ones which were very tight, and 5 or 6 in all - one was inside the door and not immediately obvious. I imagine using the wrong tool, you may struggle.
On the door clips, I found that carefully done, none broke. They are the two part type which will separate rather than break.
Recommended way is to take glass out with frame. Remove door card, and clips holding seal on top of door. Loosen bolts holding bottom window rail to regulator - wind the window down until you can get the socket on them. Wind window up, and tape glass to frame. Disconnect glass from regulator, undo all the Torx bolts holding in the frame and lift out frame complete with glass. It's fairly heavy with the glass there, and then separate once out.
