Rattly clicking brakes.

300 Tdi 1998, have an annoying clicking ccoming from offside front.

Have narrowed it down to a rattling brake pad, or pad retaining pin. It seems to have had a new caliper, the pin which is held by a split pin it ratting in its hole causing the pad to move and cause the clicking.

Is this common, has anyone else had this, and any suggestions how to solve it???

I've just bought a new set of pins to stop this lol. Are the springs still on the pins???????. Thats what caused mine to rattel. You can buy the pin kit on ebay for £5.

As Alex.. as that's what they are called "anti-rattle" springs I got mine off eBay, springs + pins as a kit, just pull out the old and push in the new

Some of the eBay suppliers are selling pins or springs for what I paid for the whole kit. :crazy:.
