Quick response needed please

bit of a silly question really but where abouts can i find the engine number on a Td5 disco? its a customers car and i need the number to order a fuel pressure regulator, but we're unclear if its been a replacement engine or not and the vin number isn't enough to get the right regulator, any help an possibly pics would be ace thank you

I had this problem before, Its a hard one to find its right below the Exhaust manifold and usally pretty rusted up, What i did was to get some wet and dry and if you look closely you can see a smooth flat piece on the engine, rub over this with the wet and dry and then smooth over it with a damp cloth, I still had problems reading the numbers so i used my mobile to take a picture of it, close up, thats makes it a bit easier.



if you still cant find it let me know and i'll take some pictures to show you how

thats sweet that thank you, i haven't got access to the car see so i'm telling the owner over the phone where it is, hopefully i can sort the correct part out today!!! if you know of the correct part number for the fuel pressure regulator for a 2000 W reg Td5 disco PLEAAAAAAAASSSEEEEE tell me, microcat is confusing, and without the engine number yet i can't really do much. thanks again for the info on the engine numbers secret lair too, most helpfull

right then, i've got the engine number now, (thanks again engineer 1964)

now my next confusion is that on microcat i have 2 options

option 1 is -(E)10P15967B to (V)1A736339
option 2 is (E)10P15968B- to (V)1A736339

The engine number of the car is a 10P but with an A at the end? would that be option 1 or option 2 to order?
