Hi,
I am hearing that when replacing front pads on a Discovery 1 300 Tdi 1997 that the wear sensor leads can be cut off as if installed they can cause problems on older vehicles.

Good plan??

Has your disco the facility and a dash indicator of low pad wear/replacement required, I don't think so, therefore if you have pads which incorporate the wire sensor then just cut the wires and remove as you have nothing to plug into.
Pads also fit the RRC which has the facility for indication of low pad wear.

But if you do have the facility on your disco then fit the pads and connect the plugs I done see how "they can cause problems on older vehicles".

i've always cut them off on mine. ok mines a 1994 300tdi and i would be surprised if it still worked even if it was fitted lol. end of the day its up to you as a drive to inspect the brake system on a regular time scale.
