having taken pipe off to the air intake there was oil dripping back out .
I am on about the one were the egr is.
So i took the pipe off were the turbo is and there was drips in there to.

Turbo still gose to 1.4 bar but the eng is like its undoor power and not doing as many mpg and dont shound to good.
will this be the turbo oil seal ?
can i buy some new ones and do a diy fix for this or is it game over for the turbo .
Am thinking this is the reson for the missing shound that i have been getting from the eng for some weeks ?

pipes from turbo will be oily tih is normal they all even new pass some ,but you shouldnt really notice this as loss on dipstick .easy check with oulet pipe from turbo to intercooler off rev engine and see if any oil visibly comes out if not okay

It's perfectly normal for the turbo to intercooler and the intercooler to inlet manifold rubber pipes to have a little oil in them as the turbo 'floats' on a film of oil.

If you TD5 still has it's EGR valve intact might I suggest that you get an EGR removal kit, various people sell them at various prices. The important thing is to ensure that you completely remove the EGR vale - don't just blank it off. Blanking off only is ok on a TDi Disco but not sufficient on a TD5 imo.

When you've done the De-EGR mod as it's called, it makes a lot of sense to clean the MAP sensor on the inlet manifold at the same time.

hi ya
i recently took my egr off and tried to take the map sensor off to clean it but was a little worried as it didnt want to come out of the manifold is it a case of being a little firm with it?
cheers andy

Hi Andy, the MAP is sealed in place by a multi-ribbed rubber seal, so it takes a little tugging to remove.

ok people taken it to bits and think the oil is coming from the breather hose at the cylinder head cover wich as a lot of air coming out is this normal?
also the eng shound wich makes it like missing is the air conditioning compressor i think
there is a plug at thee top of it if i unplug it stops doing it as much
some think on that keeps makeing the eng die y is this
