oil light

hi all, 300tdi oil light coming on when hot but only on tickover,when revved the light goes out.oil and filter changed at weekend (castrol 10/40 part synthetic) but light still coming on !!!!:doh:.any ideas what this could be.....cheers..marcus.

Probably the switch, change it and if it still does it you will need to start looking elsewhere as its probably serious.

thanks mate do you mean the one just above the oil filter , is it the oil pressure switch ? :doh::doh:

yes ,but if dosent cure it check pressure ,could be alot of things including wear in all .oil pump.big ends ,main brgs ,cam brgs,oil squirts,,worth looking at but might be cheaper to put another engine in,
