Odometer problems

Firstly I did try the search function.

Last week my starter solenoid went into meltdown. It actually meted itself whilst it was in the drive. Shortly after replacing the starter motor and solenoid I noticed the mileage on the odometer had jumped from 111681 miles to in excess of 180000 miles.

Can anyone advise why this happened and how I can get it back to where it should be?

make sure it didnt jump to Km instead of miles... it could happen, if it's so hold down the button more than 2 seconds and it'll go back to miles.

It will have jumped to km like sierryfery said. Sometimes it makes the odmeter flash too. You will need to put it on diagnostic though if that happens to calibrate the miles.

Doh! You are both right. The "km" below the trip meter should have given it away.
