Hi, have a disco 2 td5, and this morning on the way to work suddenly all the lights on the instrument panel went off! And then a kind gentleman informed me that none of my rear lights were working! Also when I press the brake, the difflock light comes on, which I know happens when the brake lights don't work. And when I indicate all the lights on the dash flash like I'm at a rave!
Any ideas? I'm thinking it's not a fuse as the lights flash with the indicator? Possibly the indicator stalk?

seems like a bad earth to the interior fusebox...or the fusebox itself(which is more than a fusebox) wont hurt to check fuses though, especially F15(interior)...and F13, F14 in engine bay

Hmm okay I'll give that a check! Earth might be more likely because the lights also came on when the disco had a sudden change of movement possibly indicating a bad or loose connection!
Where will I find the earth for the fuse box?

C0551 distributes earth for fusebox and instrument pack... measure between body and each pin, it must be closed circuit...worth a check the conectors behind the instrument pack

Thanks for that, I looked on rave for the earth but couldn't find it! Well l checked that earth which actually wasn't behind the carpet, it was behind the trim on the right hand side of the footwell! It was all fine, so no luck there! All the back lights flash when I lock and unlock the car now as well as when i indicate!

Well, found it was a burnt out wire under the car where it goes to all the rear lights. something must have caught it offroading, and water got in!
Thanks for your help sierrafery, much appreciated!
