Hi all,

Well i am only 5 days into my disco ownership... and i am already making a list of 'things to do'

First on the list was my 'three light scenario' which has been diagnosed as a faulty abs sensor.... getting sorted on Mon.

Second was replacement of three various bulbs.. rear lights etc... no big deal

Third... and annoying... is that when i got the truck - :eek:erm Disco ,the air con seemed warm, so off to the garage and had system drained pressure tested and refilled..£40 squid and was lovely and cold for a day.
Today blowing warm again and getting that 'hissing sound' that i've heard before indicating low pressure.

Had a look in the familiar places and found that the receiver/drier appears to be leaking from the top. I put a UV light on it and confirmed.

Question is... is this a diy replacement, or due to nastyness of gas etc, am i better taking it back to the air con garage and getting them to sort? I know the drier is only cheap to replace but concerned with the gases.

I am puzzled why the leak was not detected when on the machine... i'm wondering whether its been like that for some time before buying, and the sudden pressure increase on the system may have blown a seal or something... its only weeping but enough to lose pressure over a few days

Will keep you posted with the outcome

Happy days

Uh oh! Did someone say truck?
:rulez:

Never call it a truck or jeep, permissible names are
"Landy", "disco", "quality British motor" or maybe "steaming great pile of ****e" when it breaks down, but that'll never happen.

If all the gas has leaked out then you don't have to worry about nasty gases escaping when you change it do you?

That was my thought.. but i had to ask.

Just rang the garage who did the initial air con charge...they are happy to have a look for me and sort the problem.

It appears to be coming from the top of the receiver/drier and most likely a seal or something, so fingers crossed it is straight forward

Will keep you posted
