Hi All,

I've recently aqquired a disco 2 on a 99 plate from a mate who has passed away R.I.P

I've had a look around the motor and can only find what i think are minor jobs to be done.

1. Power steering fluid from the steering box (Only a minor leak)

Where can i get a recon unit from ?????????????????

2. Central locking all works apart from the drivers door but occasionally it will lock but not open ????????????????????????? Any ideas

3. And the dredded 3 amigos, Is this a big issue ?????????????

Any help would be great guys' Thanks' in advance.

According to the forums, 1. There sees to be problems with recon boxes (they don't last) and better to get a new one.

2, Faulty door lock a common problem try a splash of wd40 first if no good then it a new lock.

3. A common problem the three amigos faulty hub and/or abs sensor I believe, have look a urban panzers site for what is involved. www.discovery2.co.uk

Re the three amigos it could be as stated above but it could also be the Shuttle Valve Switch or poor connections or faulty wiring.

Needs to be put on diagnostics, Nanocom or Hawkeye,to narrow it down a bit.

Have a search for the "Three Amigos". Lots of info.

door lock will be shot mate, you kinda take it for granted on td5s and new range rovers.

theyre not that dear though, about 50 or 60 i think - i remember doing one at work earlier this year.

regards the steering box, sometimes just tracking down a dry looking one at a scrappy is a nice cheap successful option...

up to your wallet really!

Thanks' lads,

Really appreciate the info will try all of the above and let you know how i get on,

Regards,
