New bulbs

I'd like to upgrade the headlamp bulbs in my 1995 300tdi for something a bit more powerful. Loads of 'Xenon' HID stuff on ebay but does anyone have a suggested supplier or are they all much of a muchness?

HID is illegal on a defender- go for Halfrauds Extreme Brilliance bulbs.

As long as they are of a know make you will be ok, there's a lot on naff stuff on ebay.
My Xenon H4 bulbs came from Halfords when they were doing a BOGOF the may still be doing it.

Thought they was illegal on any vehicle what is on the road

Xenon isn't - HID is, unless it has self levelling headlights

dont buy any cheap unbranded bulbs on ebay... they are crap.... the pair i was shown even have different length glass bits..... kid down the road put these super bright bulbs in... they looked dim blue to me.... it failed the mot a week later... one of the fails was dim headlights..... stick with a known brand name ... mine are the halfords bright ones ... big improvement on standard h4s

heard good things about these although never tried them, looked in to it last year for my bmw and opted for the philips x-treme instead , but these look like a bargain for £10

Halfords are still doing the offer and there own brand ones are made by ring I believe
