I need a new key fob (or two), can i just buy a 2nd hand fob ( rover 200 ) off the e bay, and get them re programmed to my disco???

Or is it a main stealer job to buy a new fob?

Please help as difference is £7 versus £70, and also getting stuck in a dark damp scottish forest, when I forgot where I put the bloody keys!!!

Why do you need new fobs? Is it because of the electronics themselves or is the button plastic breaking? If the latter have a look here:

Polmex

They are based in Australia and produce a silicon gromit type replacement for the buttons. You just need to remove all the old bits as per their instructions and you have a working key fob. No need to reprogram anything and each fob costs about £20 to fix.

I did mine about 6 months ago and had no problems since. I also replaced the batteries at the same time just to be sure.

I too looked at getting replacement fobs from LR who wanted to charge me £85 + vat for one fob and another £50 + vat to program it to the car!

Hi whippet, I need more fobs, as I only got one with car, I'd like to have 3 ideally one for me, one for Mi5 ( i mean the missus) and one for spare.

I was hoping to just get a couple of cheapos from rover 200 or similar from scrappy and get them re programmed to my car if it was possible.
