MFU Location

Hi all....am a new 1996 Disco owner which is a jap import and have a question regarding the location of the Multi Function Unit anybody have an idea where they are located on the jap models?

If Japanese models have them then same place as the uk models then pluged into the back of the fuseboard.

Many thanks....I take it you have to drop the fuseboard out to access it? Reason I ask need to carry out a couple wiring checks on the MFU connector as rear wiper not working!

Thats it just two bolts and a lead to unplug at the front of the fuse board so u can carefully turn the board over and pull the MFUs 24 way connector plug and then pull the unit from the fuse board.
It's only last week I had to replace mine as the whole thing packed up.

Forgot.. u have to unclip the two strips of fuse carriers (satellite) one at the top one at the bottom they just slide off the mounts

While on the jap import wiring subject
Mines a 1996 Jap import, stripped the dash out to bypass the immobiliser spider thing.
Its not there, had loads of differing answers but appears to be built into the ecu.

The MFU is only the 1st item on my list to deal with being an import.....got a stereo to fit next and reading the threads seems i'll be running wires up to the new head unit, haven't had a chance to take the LR radio/cassette out yet to see what's plugged in!!!! One thing i did find earlier was the rear washer and wiper switches had nothing plugged on them connector wise, found them tucked behind the instrument cluster! When i connected them the washer worked but not the wiper so I'm following the trouble shooting from the manual.....wish me luck! lol

they are the same as any model very few differences ,yours is edc if it doesnt have spider
