Anyone know what this might be...

I have an 04 plate disco 2 which has strange lumping thumps under drivers footwell, doesn't happen when engaging gears, or when power is applied, but happens on single track rough'ish roads, better on flat tarmac. I've had the front prop looked at, joint badly worn and repaired by using a spicer joint? Thought lumping would improve but not noticeably.

Very annoying - anyone got any ideas??

Regards - Mcd

Might it be related to the steering wheel movement?

It may be worth checking the Panhard bar bushes (moves latteraly with the steering wheel). Really easy to check. Turn wheels. Then you will have room to put your arm in front of the wheel. Pull from the bar and try to move it, If it moves or squeaks, that may be the problem...
