Hi all

Ive bought two discovery's, one is a series 1 3.5 v8 petrol with an lpg system fitted and a rotten body, the second is a Series 2 3.9 v8 petrol that i want to use every day. Can anyone help me with any knowledge if its possible to swap the system over? The system is made by 4-Tech i think its a single point injection as it injects via the air intake into the plenum chamber.

Thanks For Any Help At All

Peter

yes it will either have emmulators to cut supply to the 2 injector banks or wire a relay to cut ecu supply when on gas the rest is plumbing

i rang up the company 4 tech who said that system on a 4 litre will not work due to back firing, so would it be best to swap the engine over and keep my 3.9 injection system due to the immobilisers on each vehicle?

Peter

why back firing either air leak or bad spark ,i would lok into it more my vapouriser was siutable for several engine sizes as was gas ring on plenum ,gas isnt a complicated thing on earlier v8s

Confusion ! A series 2 Disco should be a 4.0v8.(Same capacity I know as the earlier 3.9 D1) But its running the Bosch Motronic system, not at all suitable for a single point LPG setup.Even the earlier D1 with 14CUX injection can be problematical with single point LPG - its not realy much good for anything other than forklifts.(If you are at all interested in fuelling the engine properly)
Motronic equipped engines dont have a hope in hell of being fed properly without a reasonable sequential multipoint LPG system.

Mine has 3.9 on the plenum chamber and it runs off a 14cux injection system, so would it fit do you know? The kit i have removed cuts power to the ecu by breaking the two yellow wire going into the ecu, would this be the same wires on the newer disco running the same ecu?

The ecu on the 93 was silver and the 94 is black but both have 14 cux written on them?
