Hi all

I have this very week bought my first ever Disco, 2.5 TD5 late 2003 94000 miles.

It is in stunning condition and works perfectly... and i would like to keep it that way. Im not into off-roading and do low milage, It wont be used everyday. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to look after it (besides actually not using it) ? What should I service and check ? What is likely to go wrong at around 94000 miles ? Im not much of a mechanic but will have a go when i need to.

Cheers

with it having a some miles on it i would do a service around ever 7-8000 as u said your not using it that often... and always stick to the sevice manual or close to it as poss !!!

and if ur having it for a while maybe worth saving for some wax oiling or somthing simliar

hope this helps if not so others will add or correct us :D

cheers
Anthony

yup I agree. Regular servicing and at shorter intervals than the workshop manual is the single best thing that a disco owner can do. A well maintained td5 can take you anywhere you want to go in the world.

If you dont have a full service history. I'd be tempted to change all the oils as a starting point.

Whats likely to go wrong? I guess if you've air suspension then the rear air bags will need replacing at some point if they've not already been. Its a straightforward DIY job though. Otherwise, keep reviewing this site and you'll pick up the other common problems. I've also found these two web sites extremely useful for Discovery td5 info:

www.discovery2.co.uk
Home - DiscoveryTd5

I hope this helps.
