Land rover discovery 1 broken door lock

Hi There,

I have a broken door lock on my 1997 disco 1, i have looked at this door lock,now this is gong to be a hard one to describe so bear with me. the vehicle is a disco 1 1997

When you look at the door lock from behind the door card and you insert the key into the lock you will see the tip of the key pertrudeing, just to the left of the key tip (as you look at it from behind the door card) there is a little plastic circle that goes all the way round the lock with a tip petrudeing just to the left of the key tip. Now this moves round when the key is turned to unlock it and its this that has snapped.

What i need to know is can this be replaced or have i got to buy a whole new lock for this, any help would be great.

It's a fairly common fault. I'm not sure of the remedy but if you do a search there have been a number of threads on this. I think the answer is usually to get a lock from a scrappy.
