How to stop water getting in disco!

Good evening chaps , I'm finally going to get round to trying to prevent damp carpets if it's possible, the problem is mainly the boot floor carpet so I'm I'm planning on stripping some of the interior to try and help the problem but was wondering if anybody had any good starting points, I don't have sunroofs and it's a 3 door

Sun roof seals, both to glass and to roof/frame ...

Alpine glass, roof rails, aerial, windscreen top, behind the dash there is a welded seam that catches mud and stuff and is usually not sealed well and rusts through ...

Then there is the floor ... the water comes up almost as fast as it drains ...

the rear door seal is a common entry point for water ingress also.

+1 mine leaked at rear door seal

Holes in boot floor or back arches will make the floor wet when it rains

good luck with lifting the rear carpet, you just about to enter a whole new world of pain,

yes you did a good job there,most would have just scrapped it.

On my old 200 disco I couldn't find the leak that was dripping into the boot, until I sat in the boot when it was piddling down. I found the drip was coming in behind the alpine window plastic trim.

But the water was getting in through a tiny split in the guttering , when the truck would move about it would let in quite a lot of water.

I used this & it was excellent Creeping Crack Cure at Waudbys
