Hi,

One of my front turning signals has gone out. Am I right in thinking that I have to remove the headlamp in order to gain access to the turning signal?

One thing that puzzles me about the turning signal housing is this small white hexagonal thing... I'm sure I'll have to unscrew it to pop the housing open. However, I don't have a tool to do this :(

Any advice please!

What model and year? Mines a 94 300TDI and is totally different to your so I'm assuming yours is earlier?

On mine there is a metal spring clip that holds the indicator in the wing, you simply release this by unhooking it and the whole unit comes out, then simply turn the bulb holder half a turn and withdraw it, takes less than a minute to change the bulb, start to finish.

:D Last time I checked it was indeed a Disco

It is 1996 and it is a 300TDI, sorry, shoulda mentioned it in my question.

I've got a very narrow passage behind the turning signal's housing. I can barely squeeze my hand in.

If you look in there you will see a metal spring clip with a loop about 1 1/2" in diameter on it, its a thin wire spring clip and it clips the housing to the wing, just pull it and unclip it from th inner wing and the whole unit can be removed from the wing. Have a look at this pic, you can see the clips I'm talking about.
