Had someone plug their Nanocom 1 into my 2002 td5 to reset 3 amigos (just replace hub).

Since I am still getting very low MPG (15 mpg on average which is 75% town, 25% motorway) I asked him for the live data readings at idle.

Everything seemed ok except the following which I'm not sure of.
Cylinder balance for all between -5 and +5
Air inlet temperature 34oC. Is this ambient air temp cause if so today it was about 10oC. Does this suggest temp sensor in air filter box is faulty?

Thank you
John

the cylinder balance is brilliant, but how do you know everything "seemed OK" while you dont know that the inlet air temp is in the inlet manifold read by the MAP/IAT(inlet air temp) sensor and depends on some conditions, the ambient temp is something else and has nothing to do with this as the (AAP)sensor in the airbox gives info about ambient temp(only for Euro 3 modells) but this is not displayed just used by ECU, only the ambient pressure is shown in live data which is relevant... tell us what were those OK readings for MAF , MAP and AAP cos these are relevant for mpg...and not just at idle but at higher revs too ... if you want to get a reasonable and helpfull answer

As Fery said, you haven't really given us anything much to work.

I find MAF & MAP readings at tickover and at 3,000rpm to be a useful benchmark.

As you have said I haven't really given you enough info....sorry.

I went with intention of resetting 3 amigos and whilst plugged in had a quick look through live data, the temp is the only one that didn't make sense. The other readings seemed reasonable but may be wildly out, the problem is I didn't really go with the intention of solving my low mpg issue so didn't gen up on enough knowledge.

I guess a better question might be, when I get time to go again what would the procedure be to get enough data for diagnostic of low mpg. Sierrafery and thebiglad have both indicated as such but is there anything else I should be doing (live data from a drive?)
Thanks again

live data from drive with warm engine would be the best as to floor the throttle well at a moment ...but even stationary is good just we need a reading at idle and one at let's say 3500rpm...then we have something to work with see attachment to make an ideea of proper readings(the cylinder balance is exagerated there IMO)
