The gear stick that is! :D On my missu's '94 disco 300tdi. just got in it this morning, and couldn't pull away. stalled every time in 1st or 2nd. Reverse was fine though. tried about 5 times, then it wouldn't go into reverse any more, and now the gearstick feels loose and floppy. is it the clutch stuck? we only boght the damn thing 2 weens ago! Any advice please? Cheers guys 'n' gals.

remove centre console and rubber gaiter underneath (drill out pop rivets)remove top cover on gear box around lower gear stick ,either or both bias late holding springs upright part broken off can be welded back on or under gear box top which would need removing ,on end of selector shaft theres a yoke with ball ball falls out or grub screw 5mm comes loose

well, after 3 hrs, we have a working motor! :D Thanks guys! exactly as you abbreviated jamesmartin, the grub screw had come out. happy days. never would normally dare play with the guts of gearbox, and this has made me realise how fooking great LR's are! i'd dare to say that you guys have saved us the best part 300 quid! and no doubt the garage would have bought lots of parts, after lots of air passing between their teeth!:bounce:
