Hi, new to the forum and need help already.
Bought a 1996 V8 Discovery a few months back, got the engine running perfect and done the wheel bearing, all was going great till tonight.
As I was driving the car started making a few banging noises and a noise much like the noise of a bad wheel bearing from the rear and the car was struggling a little as if the brakes were sticking. Just as I was about to pull in there was a sort of bang/pop then a hiss like a burst tyre. The hiss only lasted a few seconds and was gone by the time I pulled in. I checked everything and could not see anything. As I pulled away all was fine and was for about 20mins then started making the noise(like a wheel bearing) and struggling again. It's done it a few times now and every time I pull over I can't find anything and it's gone when I pull away again.
I can't work out what it is at all, wheel bearing, sticking drum,diff....
Any help would be greatly appricated.

It was just one of the front bearings that needed done. I'll try to get the car jacked up today, if I can clear enough snow first that is. Can't pin point what it could be.

Same sort of thing with me started with a squeek then a grinding on and off.
striped one side all fine changed bearings anyway striped drivers side rear bearing fell apart on the floor.
Changed that all good now.
