Hey all I have my first child on the way and have read that seat belt lengths in the rear of my disco 1 will be too short for most baby seats, does any one know if the graco baby seat will fit in if i use the graco seat base?

Which graco seat though?

I could just barely fit the baby carrier one in the back of a RRC, which i guess will be about the same. was literally with the belt at full reach. the seat base will use less belt, but the angle of the belt may not be right, because of it coming from the wheelarch beside the seat, rather than up from behind it.

probably a case of trial and error i'm afraid.

I had a Graco for my little boy at one point and I used it in the disco. If I remember rightly it was ok. But there are quite a few different ones so would be best off checking. Good luck :)

We use this one Maxi-Cosi in our
Disco 1 with no problems, the seat belt is tight but dose go arround it.
We tryed it with the easy fix base unit but it pushed the infant carrier to far forward
so we just use the seat belt and seat on its own, plus saved €120 by not going with the base.
The shops will try and sell you all sorts of stuf you dont need, all you need to get baby home and comfey is infant carrier and somewhere for it to sleep a mosses basket is will do for the first 3 months.

The best seat I have found that fits is the one he is still in now. It's a britax one that is rear facing and lies back so can Be used from birth and then as they get older it turns in to a forward facing one. It's probably a bit More expensive but means you dint have to buy a new one everytime they grow :)

Cheers for the responses, as i thought its going to be a case of try it at the shop and see. We're looking at a Graco travel system which has'Graco Junior Baby Car Seat'. Hope it fits as the misses as got her heart set on it.

All shops should show yu how to fit the seat and ensure that yu are "competant" to do so. I know Halfrauds do and believe that others should.
They should also know which are recomended seats for you motor, or allow you to try seats out.

I have the mothercare delyx travel system (basicly gracco) and the car seat will only fit in the front seat of my 300

Bought similar thing (also Graco) when my lad was a baby. TBH, it was a total waste of money (my mrs just had to have it...). The farting about from car seat to buggy seat wasnt worth the hassle. It ended up as a buggy permanently, and I went back to halfrauds and had some spotty kid (expert mind you...) show me how to fit a baby seat. I ended up showing him  Dedicated baby seats to leave in the car dont cost much at all. Dont be swayed by a posh (expensive) multi use thingy (the sales pitch will be summat like `it also acts as a booster when your child is older...`). By the time your baby grows to a toddler and needs a booster, he will have puked, spilt milk, juice, soggy rusks, etc on it and no matter how well you clean it, you will be ready to replace it with an inexpensive booster. Been there, got the T-shirt..twice :D

For an update the Graco baby seat didn't fit in the rear seat of my disco 1 and they recommended not to put it in the front. Ended up getting a maxi cosey baby seat from Mothercare which fitted in the rear with just enough seat belt to go round. Thats one expense out the way...

So next is push chair, cot, clothes, bedding, Moses basket, toys, books, bottles, bottle steriliser, and the list go's on and on you poor man or that's what you will be :baby::hurt:
