Help the drain plug is missing from my 1995 Disco, were can i get a new one looked on ebay couldnt find any, ????

Im not really sure this is my first Disco dont no much about them. Its directley under the gearbox its a threaded hole just behind the oil sump. Some oil has leaked out the surounding area is coverd

Just looked again and its at the bottom of the bellhousing is this plug not meant to be there ??

No mate, it's meant to be open the majority of the time. The idea is that there will be a small amount of oil leak and instead of it building up and potentially contaminating the clutch plate, the hole is left open to drain.

The only time you should put a wading plug in - to block the hole - is when you are wading through deep water. You are then supposed to take it out again after you have finished wading.

Cheers
Dave

PS If you look on Ebay for "Land Rover or Discovery wading plug" you'll see what I mean.

Correct. That is a vent/drain to let out any oil that leaks into bell-housing, preventing oil gettingonto clutch. If lots of oil around check oil levels in engine (of course we all do) and in the gearbox. To check level in gearbox, remove level plug and put in oil until it comes out.

hi just looked on the haynes and its the flywheel houseing drain plug. so will i have to get a replacement be fore i drive as id have no ATF fuid left in ??

I think you're over complicating the issue, the guys are right in that it's the wading plug (if it's the one at the bottom front of the bell housing), i've just had the very same problem and got a couple of plugs from Ebay, put in 'wading plugs' on a search, only cost just over 3 quid delivered.
