gasket leak from top end (td5)

hello agen
i have a prob with one of the gasket on my td5 its not the rocker cover gasket but the next one down and i dont mean the head gasket .
i have taken the rocker cover off to ave a look at the job and it looks like the head bolts ave to come out (am i right) and if so will i need a new head gasket as well or can this job be done with out a new one or is there a way to do this job with out takeing them out .
to be honest am not sure how to do this job at all and would like your help

after rocker cover gasket the next one is the cylinder head gasket

no its not the head gasket my head splits in to 3 bits and it dos split just about were the round disk is there are about 6 bolts down the right side of the eng but not sure what hold the left down apart from the head bolts
and this is the bit am not sure about ?
if the head bolts do hold it down can i take them out with out new head gasket and bolts as there is nothing roung with the head gasket

Just looked at rave and the part you are talking about is the camshaft carrier. It is held on by the head bolts and also it states that the rear camshaft seal has to be replaced as well. If i can copy the page i will post it later.

if u could that would be mint and if not dos it say if you have to do the head gasket as well or can you just do the other gaskets

Rave as far as i can see only refers to the cam and carrier as part of the head overhaul. But personally i would think that if the head bolts are removed then the head will be loose and the head gasket seal will be broken. You will already be most of the way there anyway, it would be a shame to put it all back together and find that now you have head gasket problems.

Yes thats it do a search for rave, i got mine from the green oval web site months ago. Google it and you should find it.

How did you get on? I appreciate this was two years ago but I have exactly the same problem.
