Can anyone offer help, please?

Recently bought a 2nd hand LR disco in Muscat and there's been heavy leaking a few weeks later. The local garage said it needs a new fuel return valve and the local LR dealer said this will cost OMR 145! (About £260). Is there a misunderstanding or does this tiny part really cost this much?

Any advice on this or where the cheap dealer in Dubai is that I've heard about would be gratefully received.

Cheers,

James

James, sorry but that model is a little outside my small sphere of Landy knowledge, my old Disco is back in the '90's (300Tdi), and full mechanical injection, i'm presuming a 2004 model is a whole lot more sophisticated with electronic widgets and stuff, there will be someone I'm sure from this forum who knows something about your 2004 Disco, and I've not ever been to Dubai.

Do you mean fuel pressure regulator ? Is it leaking from under the engine ? If so think the part for a genuine landrover one should be around the £120 mark

I,d have thought it would be the Fuel Pressure Regulator aswell.

2004,s about bthe right age for that to start leaking.

As ZEST says, around £ 120 and 2 hours labour.

The TD5 Fuel Pressure regulator is prone to leaking. It is possible and straightforward to change yourself, but have a swearbox handy as the bolts are akward to get to. Learn the rail priming procedure if you decide to change it yourself.

Most UK mail order 4x4 suppliers will despatch overseas, it will be alot cheaper than a dealer over there!
