Hi all,

A friend of mine has a disco 2 and has been driving about for a few years with the fuel cap release missing, he reckons it has been like that since he bought it, he also noted that when pressing the fuel release button inside the vehicle it does not make a noise.

I'm wondering if the previous owner just removed the release mechanism or it just somehow came loose and is inside the vehicle trim somewhere.

I said I would ask the all knowing Land Rover Gods on this forum ;) and get back to him with some info.

How do you get access to it, i'm guessing you have to remove the interior trim around the boot area but there seems to be no information/guide on how to locate the trim clips (Rav documentation gives some info but I can not find the info I'm after), just thought i'd ask before I go breaking some plastics.

Any info much appreciated.

Well if yer mate's been driving with it missing for some years why bother with it now.:confused:;)
Because I enquired into the reason why he had not fixed it, and he wasn't sure how, and didn't fancy a large garage bill, so I offered to look into it and see what info I could get for him. (he also runs his own business and works part time at the firm I work at, so he isn't short of a few quid, but he is short on free time and needs his vehicle). happy!? ;)

u have the whole procedure in RAVE + fuel delivery system + repairs
Thank you! much appreciated! shall go away and study that section, cheers. :)
