Front Propshaft strip down

Hi all
i have found that my front prop shaft UJ is dead on the transfer end, the casting that bolts to the transfer box is damaged so i need to replace that. I have one from a series 2a that looks the same dose anyone know if it is?

Also the splinded part of the prop shaft should that side out of the prop as mine dosent move (dosent look like it has been greesed anytime soon).

One last question:

Without the front prop the disco wont move is this right i thought that it would just be rear wheel drive?

you cant remove old joints and refit them ,there are 2 sizes of uj depencs whats fitted ,slides often seize i would buy new or used prop ,drive in difflock with prop removed for time been
