Hi all, snapped my front prop today:mad: and need to be back on the road for this week, anyone in or near swansea have a spare front prop and diff? 10 spline.

Will pay or trade for trade what ever is best if anyone can help please let me know.

Thanks all

front prop is still attached at the diff but, the diff needs changing too so i thought save the hastle of taking it off and change at the same time.

Its also my daily driver so need it to be back on the road asap :(

ok, my rear diff has now given up on me too :(

my front diff is still useable just whiney, if i refit my old front prop with new uj's to the front while i hunt for a new rear diff will it have to be driven in difflock still and will the same thing happen again? Im guessing i will have to remove the rear prop to stop the drive getting to the back wheels?

im new to this centeral diff malarky and there seems to be a huge lack of spare parts round this way!

any and all help appriciated!

cheers guys & gals

Thanks guys for the offers but the saga continues... got and fixed the rear diff next morning pulling away from my house my lower link arm mount on the axel snapped :( and on closer inspection the other mount on the axel is about to go too!

Can you buy new mounts to be welded on the axel or is it a new axel job?

thanks guys

Cheers james, any idae where to buy the brackets from i've looked but i cant find them anywhere?

There is a landrover breakers locally which has an axel for £150 or £110 if i take them my old axel is that a fair price? seems a bit steep to me?

Thanks again!

Bloody hell, not having much luck are you!

i know and the bloody thing has been a right pain in the arse over the las few months! and to think i was going to buy a series and didnt because i didnt fancy the work ha ha wish i had bought the series now!:D

rears da4516 britpart number £10 ish each ,any parts supplier as most use britpart as well as others

You sir are a god among mere mortals! :praise:

Can these be welded in with the axel in place or is it to close to the fuel tank? im not a welder but if i need to remove it then i will, but if there is no need to take it out then i will get someone round to do it at the house.

Thanks again for all the help

It's easier with the axle out, but can be done if you remove the shock etc and jack the body away from the axle to give space ..

Make sure you use an Angle grinder to really clean the crap of the old mounts off, and a spirit level to keep it square and flat. Tack a single corner, check it's flat, tack another, check it's flat, keep going like this 'till it's solid ... it's unreal how much something can move if you just try to weld it in one go. You can more easily (ish) clean crap welds up than you can move the mount afterwards .. ;)

150 is not terribly steep for a breaker, remember they are a business and have to make profit.

I have a shabby rear axle case here, the diff pan is leaking, you can have it for scrap value though. Obviously a fair distance from you, just offering ideas!
