Front camshaft oil seal

Just about to change the seal in the disco. Is it ok to hit her a blast with the powerhose afterwards to get rid of the oil and crud that has built up? Or is there anything to watch for. I see the alternator is covered a bit as well

I definitely WOULD'T do that if I were you!

The way I do it is with aerosol cans of Brake and Clutch cleaner - works really well and is very controlled.
