fitting side steps

bought a 2002 disco last week,the guy gave me a pair of brand nwe sidesteps no instructions,do you have to remove the front mud flaps & when you fit the sidesteps cut the mud flaps to suit,also it has mud flaps in front of the rear wheels what happens to these

The fitted mudflaps should be at the front and yes you will have to trim your existing ones, or do as I did and just remove the rubber and refix inboard about 1inch. the holes were already in the top of the flap to do that.
