As barmatt says what model?

As for yr bulbs all blown?? you sure it's not a fuse gone? or dodgy connector?

its just the heating control back light and clock one, the rest work? any idea where the fuse box is for them (yes im a noob haha)

Re the Bulbs - quote
I purchased 2 x JWH 100070 "Bulb - Dial Illumination" bulbs from my main stealer - cost £2.24 each (NB I can't find these on the web anywhere other than Rimmer Bros who don't display the price in their online catalogue).

I had two bulbs gone, one in the right-hand rocker switch, and the one which illuminates the little buttons across the bottom (I could live with one bulb being out, but 2 needed attention!).

Out with the radio makes it easier for me (2 allan screws on my radio), then rest the radio on the dash (without disconnecting, so no need to mess with the security code). Then fingers down the back of the dash to loosen the clips for the aircon unit and out it pops. Once out, there are 3 connectors to remove (they're all different so no need to label them).

Once the unit's clear, you can see 2 x cross-head brass-coloured screws which loosen easy. Then the first PCB hinges out of the way (it's connected to the second pcb by a ribbon cable). You don't need to undo anything else, just remove the bulbs with a sharp screwdriver, and put the new ones in place.

Total time 15 mins, job done... Works a treat!

To get the (original) radio out you need a long-ish Allan Key to undo. I believe you can also pop out the clock from behind whilst the radio is out...

Thats a bit different to all the bulbs have blown

If it's just the two that have gone and I assume the clock is working it's just the bulb that isn't. Then there's a better chance it is just the bulbs.

As for OP as to how to remove the centre console.

I'm sure the rave manual, or even a haynes manual will tell you how.
Assuming cos I've not looked there's nothing on here on the procedure. Maybe you'd like to post how you did it with lots of piccies ;) :D :D

Hi Andy, re your first question I'm assuming that you want to change over the head units of the car radio sound system? If that is that case then you will need the 2 flat radio-removal keys which you slide into the face of the radio and then merely pull it out.

Re you second question, does it have Climate Control or are the heater controls round dials?

yeah the boy has wired in a sony unit already, but not correctly as it looses everything when you take the key out. so prob the constant feed is wrong or something. was just wondering how to get it out as its not the standard LR unit?

its round dials mate

Ok, to remove any radio from any car you need the removal keys, these usually come in the form of pins that slide into each side of the radio to unlock the retainers. If you don't have these, you will need to use thin screwdrivers:allen keys:nails to unlock the reatiners, then pull the radio out<.

As you have the round dial controls you won't need to remove the panel to get the radio out but you will need to if you want to replace the bulbs. From memory you just pull off the large round knobs and you will see the retaining screws.

what a farse trying to get to the heater controls bulb! had half the dash off and still couldnt get in behind, gives me something to ponder over the weekend
