Few Probs on a 1994 ES

Hi People

Picked up the 300 TDI ES the other night. Few little issues to deal with (Mainly due to being just driven and not serviced I think)

Curly dash syndrome (Ebay for that).

Electric mirrors dont work. (Des anyone know what fuse as I cant find one blown under the dash?)

ABS And Airbag lights not working (probably removed?) Can anyone tell me what bulbs they are before I take dash apart?

Cigarette lighter not working (Poss same circuit as above?)

Speedo doesn't work. Fuse 14 ok. Dash pod held in place witrh cable ties so I will replace the screws and fix properly when above sorted.
Rev counter reads high. Wont drop below 1000 rpm even with engine speed reduced.

Need to get a remote central locking plip ( It's a march 94 so think it may be blue board single button?)

Needs a good service! Air cleaner was taken out this morning. In 30 yrs of tinkering bever seen one so blocked (Been a chelsea tractor all it's life). Dont think it's been changed for 40k miles!

Cambelt and head gasket done.

Hole in the leather on the base of the driver's seat.

No rust!

Will get it completely gone through but ned to take it to Dorset first!

Any advice on the above issues would be appreciated

My abs light was missing too, stand by for some abs errors when you get it fitted.

Rev counter could be the wrong pulley on the alternator.

No rust is a big bonus.

De-cat and de-egr if not done already.

Yeh, Reckon that's why there are no lights showing.

Also, forgot to mention. Temp gauge doesn't go above the 1/4 mark and heaters not as hot as I would have thought. I changed thermostat today and new antifreeze but no difference.

Also need to get a new slip ring as the horn has been reqired to a button on dash.:doh:

Has been de EGR'd by the way!

I did a 70mile round trip last week inc last 30miles om Mway & dual carriage way at 70mph took cap off expension bottle and stuck finger in it and it was luke warm,

check the fuse box in the engine bay as well

Check the mirrors when its a bit warmer as mine won't budge in the V cold.
Curly dash? You won't even notice it in a fortnight.

Good advice mate..

Mirrors are totally dead.

No clicking or anything coming from them.

Will taje a probe out this morn and check the wiring and fuses
