Hi Guys, insured the 200 again whilst the runabout laguna is out of MOT! and gave it a good run as it had been stood for a few weeks with the battery disconnected!

1. Speedo is now really temperamental, all day Tuesday the needle just flicked between 0-80 whist driving, it used to only flicker when I was accelerating hard in the low gears, then about 30-40mph when I eased up it would settle down. It's a Pain when it does this, although yesterday it was a bit better, - so how do I fix it?

2. The battery warning light is now permanently illuminated on the dash. I had the AA out (they sent the local garage) last night when I left my lights on all day. and he reconnected a wire on the alternator, and since then this lights never gone out. Also he reckons the battery is knackered as its starting capacity is reduced (it's a spare one I had from a 1.8 8v mk3 golf) and it's never failed before, unless I've been faffing around with the truck with the radio on whilst working on it. any way of sorting this battery light? Done my head in on the way home last night after mr garage man jump started it

and what's your opinion on 235,70,16 Sahara tyres? been offered a set on rims for 150? as my mate is upgrading and offered them for sale for £200 but to me £150.

Don't want to be rude but do you mean speedo or rev counter?

The rev counter is connected to the back of the alternator. So both faults may be as a result of a bad/wrong connection.

Right, been out driving the disco today and come to the conclusion he's connected the wire wrong, as when I start the car - no light, idling - no light, rev the car to 2k - dim light, rev higher - brighter light. And it flicks on if lights are on, / indicating, but the alternators charging fine!
