When i bought my disco last year, it came with only 1 keyfob and whilst i'm pretty good with keys, it worries me ****less if i was ever to lose it and i work about 50 miles from home, so if i lost it at work

Anyway been toying with the idea of getting a spare made up, is this something you need to get from the LR Stealers or can i buy a blank keyfob and get it cut and programmed at a local garage??

Any ideas please

Cheers

There are two elements to this.

1. The key blade - blanks are widely available from Ebay for about a tenner and cutting cost.

2. The remote/fob, whatever you want to call it. - available second hand or new. About £80 and needs coding to your vehicle.

Ok, so where would i buy the fob from?? if i went to a breakers and bought a fob, could i program it myself doing the old keylock turns etc or does it need to be done at the dealers??

They are pretty expensive?

To program second-hand key you need a dealer with Testbook or a local garage/enthusiast with Nanoncom. If you buy a brand new key it will come with a barcode and can be programmed using any of the above plus Hawkeye.

They cannot be programmed without these devices.
