I have just fitted a Britpart winch bumper to my 2000 discovery. This has left the screen wash bottle looking very exposed. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone make a protection plate? or can you fit a different washer bottle that isn't so low?

Well,it may not be a Td5 bay but the theory holds good.Get another wash bottle that fits an available hole.Scrapyard or buy from ebay or vehicle wiring products or similar. If really pushed for space, vinyl bag types are available - that will mould itself to the hole its in.

What a lot of peeps do is to move the existing washer bottle to a safer place. The favourite seems to be between the ABS pump and the bulkhead.

Work out some way of fixing it in place (make up a couple of brackets) and shorten the filler neck and you're done.

I will have that to look at when I fit the winch & bumper. I think I will be making a shield and also for to replace the front mud shields to protect the back of the lights and washer bottle. I also want to fit the headlight washers and foglights to the new bumper.

I am looking for a suitable washer bottle to reposition elsewhere but there isn't much space in a td5 engine bay. I want to reserve the space behind the abs pump for double batteries and the old battery tray for a winch solenoid. I have used the fog light wiring for spot lights (been through two mots at different garages fine) and consider refitting the headlight washers but as I have already broken two there doesn't seem much point. I have cut down the original splash guards and refitted. Prior to my winch bumper I had cut the original bumper down above the fog lights so much of the plastic was already trimmed.
