hi guys , iv got a 200tdi disco and had a problem with it stopping so i bought a new stop soleniod and fitted it but after about three days the problem has come back. have i fitted it right ??is there any adjuster i just took the old one off and fitted the new one:confused: any clues cheers

Depends what you mean by `wont stop'. On some cars if its going into a spluttering tickover then it could be down to a carbon build up in the cylinder head that becomes red hot and keeps igniting the fuel - so sucking more in. Would this apply to a disco ste up - not sure.

check solenoid wire isnt live with ignition off if it remains live ,start at stwich and work your way forward if you get stuck you could run another wire from suitable source thats live only with ign on and remains on while cranking, then find fault at leisure

I had a 309 tdi that developed a running on tendancy, I had to stand on the brakes and stall it eventually.

After much head scratching I saw on another forum that someone else had the same thing and it was explained by fuel pump was bolloxed after miss fueling 2 years before. After emptying the tank and filling up with diesel I disposed of the 50l of mixture by blending it away, not a good idea I found out much later but what can you do with all that stuff?

I don't know if Landy fuel pumps are similar but it's a possibility.
