I reckon the vast majority of members on here make that their 1st mod, whilst you're at it remove and clean the intercooler, and possibly de-cat the exhaust, have a search as it's been covered many times ;)

300 TDi biglad ;)

Ok very straightforward job to do.

To do it properly (imo) you will need a TDi De-EGR kit, which includes a new intercooler top hose as well as the blanking plate.

To do the job you will need:

a socket set which goes down to 5mm (for the hose clips);

a medium screwdriver;

an allen key set or allen sockets.

First remove the the intercooler top hose by undoing the hose clips and the two bolts on the EGR valve - cast aside this pipework you won't need it again.

Now remove the two allen bolts that hold the EGR valve to the exhaust manifold - these can be difficult. If you find them to much to undo, then fasten the blanking plate onto the open end of the EGR valve.Remove and set aide the electrical plug and block off the thin black plastic vacuum pipe - I normally use a screw or bolt.

Now remove the intercooler and wash it out thoroughly with White Spirits or petrol - allow to fully dry before re-installation.

Then install the new intercooler top hose.

And you're done !!

I took the Wholw thing off and blanked it at the Manafold, get rid of something not beig used,

I did the De-cat and the EGR at different times so did not notice much change, but overall I find its a bit more responsive.
