Having just fitted my rear door with a new spring, (many thanks to writers of previous threads), I can offer the following tip.
To fit the fiddly little spring into the holes I made up a simple tool. A strip of 1mm aluminuim about 10cm x 2cm with one end tapered down to 5mm, and a small notch cut into the narrow end will push the spring ends into place without fouling on the close-by hardware.
